I consider myself a battle hardened and tested veteran of the dating game. A first class adept of the first date. Sure, some of you may think I’ve never enjoyed the touch of a woman above the knee, but I’ll let you know that I have done it and I haven’t had to pay for it…

I’m not sure what the above has to do with this post, just follow me, okay. With the adoption of social networks by the masses to share information and collaborate it has created this gigantic cyber vacuum for people to connect in ways that weren’t really possible… Change is on the horizon, friends.

MissC had written about her speed dating experiences not too long ago.  It’s something that I’ve been trying to do for a while now but for some reason or other it’s just never happened.  Speed dating was quite the fad and wildly popular around these parts not so long ago.  While this dating mechanism isn’t as popular as it once was, it still draws in a large number of people and there are a number of organizations that still put speed dating events together.  That said, I’m attending one today… How does one prepare for the occassion? Dating Recipes: the Artsy Cultural Date Thing.

I’m back with another edition of Dating Recipes that you can use and abuse for your own fiendish purposes. Just don’t tell anyone that Alex sent ya. That’s surely the way to get punched in the neck.

Locally, where I live, there are a number of cities with thriving artist communities and it turns out they’re all fairly close to me aka within driving distance. So that’s the type of date I’d like to focus on. (more…)

Dating Recipes 101: Beyond the First Date

Hold off on the questions about what a dating recipe is. For now, it’s just a lame name for this blog. In most anything anyone does it’s important to be prepared. Being prepared saves you a lot of anguish and head aches. For instance, I had a speeding ticket to take care of. Had I been prepared I could have saved myself a two hour wait at the San Bernardino court house, which I refer to now, as “Hell Jr.” (more…)
